Our vision, values and strategy
The foundation of our work
"The task of Samfundet Folkhälsan i svenska Finland is to promote health among the people across Swedish-speaking Finland, partly through comprehensive scientific research on the population’s mental and physical health, and partly through practical measures that advance public health."
This mission statement (purpose clause) was formulated when Folkhälsan was founded in 1921 and has since guided our work in promoting health and well-being in Swedish-speaking Finland.
Our vision
Our vision guides our future activities and highlights Folkhälsan’s significant role as a forerunner. The vision is like a star that leads our organisation in the right direction, but it can also be seen as the yardstick by which our objectives are evaluated.

Folkhälsan's activities and operations are based on three core values:
